IAGNASTIV Project
Generative Artificial Intelligence and new applications for tourism in Veneto.
The project
The IAGNASTIV project – Intelligenza Artificiale Generativa e Nuove Applicazioni al Servizio del Turismo in Veneto (Generative Artificial Intelligence and New Applications for Tourism in Veneto) aims to support the digital transformation of Veneto’s tourism sector through innovative technologies based on Generative Artificial Intelligence. Promoted by Smartland Venice, the project marks a further step towards building a tourist destination that is ever smarter, more connected and focused on the visitor experience.
Funded by the Veneto ERDF Regional Programme 2021-2027, this project involves 7 tourism businesses, hospitality and catering operators, local organisations and 3 universities, creating a multidisciplinary network that brings together research, technological innovation and business experience to make companies more competitive and promote the Veneto region.
Innovation and tourism: a collaborative approach between businesses and universities
As project lead, Smartland Venice, the Regional Innovation Network dedicated to Smart Destinations, coordinates the activities and encourages dialogue between businesses, universities and the region, with the aim of creating new opportunities for growth and innovation.
The project activities include:
- mapping Generative AI solutions applied to tourism;
- analysing the specific needs of businesses;
- developing innovative pilot solutions;
- defining models that can be replicated at regional and national level.
The approach is strongly focused on hands-on experimentation: the technologies will be developed from the real needs of the operators involved and tested directly in the field through pilot projects and co-design activities, producing concrete, transferable results.
Scheduled to run until 2027, IAGNASTIV is an important opportunity to test new models of tourism based on advanced technologies, data and artificial intelligence, helping to make Veneto an innovation lab for the tourism of the future.

Project funding
The SMARTLAND Regional Innovation Network, of which TEKNET SRL is a member, was established in 2021 and now brings together 130 members – businesses, public bodies and local organisations – committed to innovation, collaboration and the development of the tourism sector.
